Kessler Scholars Collaborative brings together representatives from 16 campus partners
We were so pleased to bring campus partners together in concert with the Kessler Scholars Program at the University of Michigan. In just two short days, we laid important groundwork for a successful year ahead for our 16 Kessler Scholars campus partners. During the first day of the Convening, we reviewed key components of the Kessler Scholars Program model, engaged in goal-setting activities, began to build working relationships, and shared delicious meals together. On day two, U-M Kessler Scholars and alumni provided reflections on their experiences in the program and highlighted the significance of their journey as first-generation scholars. We dove into details about program evaluation and planning year activities during breakout sessions, and we also learned more about the ecological model of validation for student success from Dr. Rosie Perez, Associate Professor at the University of Michigan. Finally, we were pleased to hear remarks delivered by Fred Wilpon, Founder of the Kessler Scholars Program, as well as Nicholas Watson of Bloomberg Philanthropies. Thanks to all who joined the Convening and for your engagement and contributions to this event. Please be sure to check out the event recordings and other Convening materials in our Knowledge Hub.
